There is nothing more delectable than beaming skin from being drenched in body oil, but aside from the glow body oils can offer many benefits to the skin. The duality of skin health and radiance is actually far less complicated than you would think, the first step to achieving both is to identify which oil is best for your skin concerns.
Application of a body oil should always be at the end of your routine, although some products may be formulated with oils in the ingredients list. If you are pressed for time during your body care routine you can also mix a few drops of your body oil in your moisturizer. Body oils can act as emollients to help moisturize the skin and strengthen the skin barrier to prevent trans-epidermal water loss.
As a personal preference I tend to avoid body oils that make me sticky or do not absorb well – there is nothing I despise more than oil stains on freshly washed clothes.
The Body Oil
Of all the body oils I have tried, I will never stop revisiting the Necessaire Body Oil. The mess-free application in the form of a well-secured pipette dropper, adds to the immaculate experience of using this oil. The primary oil in The Body Oil, is sweet almond oil which is rich in vitamin E. Vitamin E is one of the tried and true barrier supporting ingredients as not only can it help to calm inflammation, but vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant to protect against free radical damage.
For the best application of the Necessaire body oil I recommend warming it up in your hands first before applying to your body, you can also apply to damp skin directly.
Body Hero Dry-Touch Oil Mist
Not as neatly packaged but still wonderful in its own right, the Glossier Body Hero Dry-Touch Oil Mist provides added moisture to your body without leaving you feeling sticky and uncomfortable – an ideal summer must-have. If you are looking for a lightly scented tropical fragranced with some orange blossom that pairs harmoniously with summer scents this is the oil for you. Aside from the fragrance, the dry-touch oil contains oat kernel oil and rosemary leaf oil to soothe your skin.
Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter
Now, this is not technically an oil but it gives the oiled-up cover girl look… it’s the ever-popular Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter! As the name suggests this is a whipped oil and butter formula but it also contains aloe vera and glycerin to hydrate the skin.
Orgasm Body Oil
Now, the new Nars body oil in the shade Orgasm. It’s the perfect glow for daytime and evening that will have you shine like a diamond and not a disco ball.
Whichever body oil you choose to indulge in, always remember to apply SPF over the top!
