The weather’s getting colder, the big coats are coming out and staying in bed an extra five minutes in the morning is all the more tempting – Autumn is upon us. If, like me, you prefer hot over cold, I’ve compiled a list of beauty habits I picked up during summer that I love too much to let go of this season…
Hair perfume
One thing I hate about wearing new extensions is the odd smell that stubbornly sticks around even after a few washes. Luckily, Ruka Hair offers a simple solution that compliments both the scent and health of my hair.
Their Hair Perfume is infused with Mongongo Oil and Aloe Vera, misting the hair with a refreshing, whimsical fragrance that I can’t get enough of.
Blusher (and too much of it)
This summer I became a blusher girl and I love it. Kem Beauty’s Powder Blush in the shade Fiji was key in achieving that sun-kissed glow and the dash of colour dusted across the bridge of my nose and my cheekbones gave a new lease of life to any makeup look, be it full glam or minimal everyday.
Now into autumn, blusher is a staple in my beauty routines and makes me look and feel like I’ve just stepped off the plane from a sunny destination somewhere far away.
Heatless curls
A hack that I was originally sceptical about and – to be honest – never thought would work, I first tried the heatless curls hack the DIY way with a rolled up t-shirt, wrapped my hair before bed and woke up astonished at the bouncy blowout I had.
Having upgraded to the real deal, Boots’ Heatless Hair Curling Ribbon, my overnight blowout is silky smooth, lasts the whole day and most importantly, is achieved without the use of any heat.
BIAB Nails
Once I was introduced to BIAB, I never looked back. Not only does it look good, but it has benefits for my natural nails that were so often at breaking point due to years of acrylics. BIAB has helped me see lengths I never thought possible.
My nail technician’s (By Belles Nails) own brand nail oil, enriched with Vitamin E and Coconut Oil makes caring for my nails between visits easy. The oil thoroughly moisturises my cuticles, a must for the colder weather, and the watermelon scent takes me right back to that poolside feeling.
