The most Instagrammable hotels across the globe

6 November, 2023 / words by Nancy Lova

There’s no denying that to be on social media is to share some aspect of your life and one of the most common visual content posted particularly on Instagram, is travel. Oh we can’t help ourselves but to share that room with a view, a snap of our champagne breakfast or an infinity pool selfie and why not if you’re staying somewhere so picture perfect?
Whether it’s due to an amazing location, luxe decor or grand architecture, there are some hotels that are just far too extraordinary for description and have to be experienced in person and in this article, I’ll name the most Instagrammable hotels across the globe.

Villa Palladio Jaipur

Say hello to Jaipur’s newest boutique hotel and step inside a retreat as dazzling as the inside of a jewel-box. Cherry and scarlet shades throughout, fiery red hand painted walls, beautiful block patterns and rich fabrics, Villa Palladio Jaipur was once the former residence of the royal family of Kanota but is now a luxurious hotel offering a regal stay to all and is certainly one to be pinned on the grid. Choose from superior rooms to a mesmerising suite and enjoy sights of the Villa’s rose garden, a courtyard with checkered marble and a palm-shaded pool house wrapped in candy cane stripes.

The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

Ok so this is by far the most Instagrammable hotel I have ever been to. Before even stepping foot on the property, you take the scenic route by boat across Udaipur’s romantic Lake Pichola to arrive (already speechless) on the dreamiest grounds. Built in the style of a palace upon 80 acres and adorned with exquisite textiles, mirrored mosaics and traditional Indian decor, The Oberoi Udaivilas is straight out of a fairytale and will occupy your entire phone storage.
The showstopper of the hotel is the 240ft pool to dip into, to escape the Indian heat whilst overlooking the tranquil shores of Lake Pichola. However if you require even more privacy then there are a number of rooms available with semi private pools. And just when you thought things couldn’t be anymore magical, you may be lucky enough to spot a few roaming peacocks from the adjoining wildlife reserve.

Giraffe Manor, Nairobi

For those looking for a super and extravagant stay like no other, Giraffe Manor is where it’s at. A boutique hotel in Nairobi but world famous, Giraffe Manor is owned and operated by The Safari Collection meaning plenty of opportunities for guests to interact with Kenya’s wildlife and you don’t even have to travel far to do so! Giraffes on the grounds often make appearances by grazing just outside bedroom windows and popping their heads in through the windows of the dining hall during breakfast, many guests using the chance to photograph the remarkable moment.
The hotel doesn’t have a pool or seaside views but offers a more unique and wholesome vacation where you can immerse yourself within some of Kenya’s history and natural beauty.

Shangri-La Paris

A former home to Prince Roland Bonaparte with Monument Historique status and Asian hospitality, Shangri-La Paris has long been a favourite for those travelling to Paris. As well as its excellent location, fabulous culinary experience and ultra luxe spa, many often try to get a stay here for iconic panoramic Eiffel Tower views. But it’s not just the famous landmark that’s worth a photoshoot but pretty much every corner of the hotel, especially the bathrooms. All are marble with classic finishes allowing you to unwind with a very royal bubble bath after a day of sightseeing.

The Peninsula Hong Kong

A true 5 Star sanctuary in the vibrant Hong Kong. A trip to the city is already a major experience but a stay in The Peninsula Hong Kong takes things to greater heights.
White-gloved services, Tiffany tea plates, an orchestra as you dine, Rolls Royces upon entry and dramatic views of Hong Kong’s skyline, the hotel is a blend of old school charm with contemporary opulence and it’s all truly perfect.

La Mamounia Marrakesh

There are no disappointments here at La Mamounia. A timeless and regal hotel set within entrancing gardens filled with sweet smelling rose blossoms and citrus trees. Fine dining for your tastebuds, Moorish details, lavish decor and a fabulous spa catering to all your pampering needs, La Mamounia is a treat not just for the eyes but for all the senses.
Your time here is incomplete without a swim in one of the most insta-famous indoor pools. Richly decorated with superb ogee arches, gilded columns with white and gold finishes and intricate patterned tiles all around, checking out of the hotel would prove to be a challenge.
It’s no wonder it has been a favourite amongst celebrities and aristocats.
