13 October, 2023 / words by Leah

Ditch hedonism for health, beach clubs for spa stays and embrace a slower side to the white
isle with our travel guide.

When you think of Ibiza, there are usually a few things that come to mind – and it usually
begins with busy nightclubs, even busier day parties, and hedonistic activities which we
probably don’t need to go into.

But beyond the happy chaos that can be found in Ibiza is a tranquil side that is perfect for
rest and relaxation – something which isn’t often associated with the island but can be found
in abundance if you look for the right places.

Luckily for you, we’ve managed to do the work for you in a bid to create the perfect guide to
‘slow Ibiza’ – from where to stay and what to do to have a truly restorative stay on the island.

Where to stay

Talamanca

When you talk about wanting a slice of paradise in Ibiza, Talamanca has to come up. The
peaceful resort is only a 15-minute walk from Ibiza Town, making it perfect for people who
want to chill but dip their toes into the lively atmosphere that Ibiza Town has to offer. Here,
you’ll find a stunning sandy beach with turquoise-coloured waters which is popular for
swimming, kayaking and other water sports. It’s also home to Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, one of
Ibiza’s most desirable hotels, boasting chic Mediterranean interiors, two sleek swimming
pools and the famous Six Senses Spa to truly take your chill Ibiza holiday to the next level.

Es Canar

If you truly want to immerse yourself in the laid-back vibe of Ibiza, venture into Es Canar, a
small resort town on the northeast coast of Ibiza. The town is known for its quiet sandy
beaches and crystalline waters, along with the famous Hippy Market, which is the oldest
handicrafts market on the island and sells everything from artisanal wares to food. While the
town offers a range of boutique hotels and apartments, the W Hotel is perfectly located on
the palm-fringed main beach of Santa Eulalia and boasts everything you’ll need for a
relaxing and luxurious stay, from a spa, state-of-the-art gym and classes to get your yoga
and pilates fix, and three restaurants set on Santa Eulalia bay.

Portinatx

Escape the intensity of Ibiza nightlife in Portinatx, a quaint town filled with quiet bistros,
boutique shops and three stunning beaches perfect for unwinding and truly unplugging from
the world. The idyllic location is on the north side of the island and is known for its peaceful
atmosphere where visitors can forget about their worries and bask in the beauty and charm
of the town. And the town isn’t short of luxurious accommodation options – if you’re looking to
splurge, Six Senses Ibiza is located at Xarraca Bay, and is filled with lush surroundings
including seafront coves, a 1,200-square-metre spa and so much more.

What to do

If you’re after a bit of history and culture, Ibiza has that in abundance – and for those staying
in Santa Eulalia, you don’t have to venture too far to find it. Puig de Missa is a fortified 16th-
century church, perched 52 metres above sea level and is a cultural landmark for those
visiting the town. Visitors can enjoy a pleasant walk to where the church is situated learn
about its rich history and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the coast. Here, you’ll be
able to bask in the beauty of the whitewashed houses scattered across the island and take
in a sea view that is not to be missed.

Natural Park is one of them. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ecological sanctuary is
known for its salt marshes, breathtaking flora and fauna and landscapes that will leave you

producers on the island. The restaurant is also set on the ground floor of the UNESCO
