We’ve all been there, that patch of dry skin that won’t go away no matter how much moisturiser you use on it. Or your skin just isn’t feeling it’s softest when you get out of the shower. When skin doesn’t shed fast enough a build up of dead cells can occur. Exfoliating can help remove these cells and also dirt and oils that can lead to breakouts. So you might want to add an exfoliator into your routine – and we’re not talking face scrubs. Body exfoliators, scrubs and polishes buff away dry skin in no time, and leave your skin ready to absorb your cream and oils for the silkiest finish.
A fresh layer of skin is more sensitive so best to always exfoliate in the evening and then use a good high SPF during the day. Do this 1 – 3 times a week depending on your skin type. Stick to once if you have more sensitive skin, up it to two or three if your skin is more oily.
Be sure not to over do it, as exfoliating too harshly or too frequently can be painful or cause damage to the skin’s barrier.
