Facials are great for anyone of any age but some are better suited depending on the age of your skin. From hydration and moisturisation to chemical peels and microneedling, there’s so many options when it comes to giving your skin a bit of professional TLC. Given they’re not always the cheapest option either, you want to get it right and get the most out of your treatment. So here’s a quick run through of facials according to age group.
Twenties
Unless you have a particular condition that requires treatment then skincare and facials in your twenties should aim to just optimise and preserve your skin’s health. You’ll want to go for non-invasive options that hydrate and cleanse. You may still see hormonal fluctuations in your skin during your twenties so the cleansing part is important to keep breakouts to a minimum.
Hyrdafacials: deeply cleansing and exfoliating with a gentle peel. Removes impurities from pores with gentle suction.

Thirties
You may start to notice the signs of ageing in your thirties (or you may not! Everyone is different) so incorporating a little more into your skincare routine can be beneficial. Collagen loss can lead to less elasticity and you might want to consider treatments that help to stimulate its production.
Dermaplaning – minimally invasive treatment that shaves away the top layers of your skin.
Microdermabrasion – exfoliation treatment that buffs away dead skin.

Forties +
You might want to begin treatments that target fine lines and wrinkles more specifically and promote collagen production and elasticity. Laser skin resurfacing treatments are great for this.
Laser skin resurfacing – removes any damaged outer layers of skin, encouraging new skin to grow. This can help with scarring, lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, pigmentation and rough skin.
