FaceGym is the unlikely workout you didn’t think you needed. The face is made up of over 40 muscles and the facial workout and skincare brand are eager to get every single one moving and training, to improve overall skin and muscle health, by encouraging collagen production, stimulating blood circulation, boosting the lymphatic system, releasing tension and much more.
I headed to the FaceGym studio in King’s Cross for their signature sculpt, which is perfect for beginners who are just getting started on their sculpting adventure.
The signature starts with a cleanse using FaceGym’s Electro-Lite Gel Cleanser, which was mild, non-drying and set a soothing precedent for the rest of the session, followed by the Weighted Ball, which is a deep tension release tool and rolled around the temples and points of high tensions that you highlight to your technician.
My face was then lathered with the Hydro-Bound daily serum, which is infused with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and high levels of HA4 and Polyglutamic Acid combined to create a unique moisture lock.
With a slip layer in place, Ryda, my face therapist, takes a chilled Multi-Sculpt High-Performance Contouring Tool to my cheekbones and chin-area, ironing out any fine lines and wrinkles and aiding lymphatic drainage with de-puffing results seeping through in an instant.
Ryda introduced me to my new best friend, the FaceGym Pro EMS tool which delivers powerful randomised electrical impulses to activate and elevate facial muscles. Once you adjust to the uncontrollable yet hilarious movements your face makes while the device is glided against your skin, the genius behind the tool settles in and the results give something to show for it. An instant, non-invasive face lift and firmer, more youthful-looking skin in just 10 minutes.
We finished the routine with FaceGym’s Skin Changer toner, their Supreme Restructure Firming Moisturiser and a recommended SPF, the Heliocare 360 Fluid Cream with SPF 50 to ensure my skin was protected throughout the day.
Before I left, we had an in-depth chat about how to upkeep the results of the signature sculpt. Ryda recommended I return at least monthly for a Clean and Lift treatment, which combines the Signature Sculpt massage with a deep cleanse using revitalising vitamins. My post-workout consultation was tailored to the current condition of my skin and as a bonus, Ryda suggested a daily AM and PM routine and to implement a gua sha or tool like their Contouring Multi Sculpt with a high quality face oil like the ones I’ve listed below.
Gabar Face Oil
For a calming and all-natural revitaliser that makes you feel as though you exude luxury, I’d reach for the Gabar (TOUCH) Face Oil.
It’s formed of an all-vegan blend of Southeast Asian plant extracts and omega-rich balancing oils that deeply hydrates and heals the skin. The simple, lightweight formula enables the face oil to act as a protective, replenishing moisturiser, laden with natural vitamins and antioxidants to help defend your skin against the elements.
Dr Jackson’s 06 Body Toning Essence
Dr Jackon’s toning essence is a hydrating gel rich in antioxidants which revitalise, firm and repair your skin. I’ve personally used the essence all over my face and body for a tightening effect and to stimulate skin repair and promote elasticity.
Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
The trending product of the moment, Corsx’s Advanced Snail Mucin Power Essence reignites a youthful glow thanks to its lightweight, quick-absorbing formula that is dedicated to improving skin tone and texture. Infused with Korea’s best kept beauty secret – Snail Secretion Filtrate – replenishes and revitalises dry, damaged skin, whilst providing anti-ageing benefits.
KOBA Gold Drip Nourishing Body & Hair Oil
Gold Drip is a combination of nurturing oils that work together to soothe dryness and inject a shot of moisture into the skin, while also promoting elasticity to reveal a healthy glow. The oil is jam-packed with essential vitamins, proteins and antioxidants that hydrate, soften, and illuminate the skin and doubles as a multipurpose hair and body oil for all-round goodness.
