The thing about layering jewellery that I find so incredibly special is how personalised and unique it becomes. Whether you’re building your long-term look, which undoubtedly will become your signature, having seasonal fun, or dressing up for a specific occasion, the fact is: the look will be yours and yours alone.
So, when you do play that game, here’s a few things to bear in mind:
Distance
This applies to necklaces and earrings: don’t have them on top of each other so much that you can’t actually see each style. Being conscious of the distance between necklaces, especially if you’re layering more than two is crucial for an intentional strong look.
Proportion
Everything goes when you’re layering, you can mix all sizes, all shapes, just make sure that the picture as a whole looks cohesive and most of all make sense. You want all pieces to complement each other, as opposed to overshadowing one another.
Textures
Having different textures will make the full look that much more interesting, with different touches and feels, plain gold, diamonds, stones, don’t be afraid to try different things until you find the perfect match.
Dimension & Balance
This goes for all – necklaces, earrings, and rings – keep in mind the bigger picture of the look you’re trying to create. Make sure they all complement each other and have dimensions, are interesting and dynamic, and most of all that there’s a balance between all elements.
The point here is that: expressing yourself and owning your vibe can never go wrong.
See below some suggestions:
Jennifer Fisher
Kate Huggies
Can not go wrong with these huggies, they come in rose and yellow gold also and are a perfect addition to creating dimension on your layering.
Falon Jewellery
Hailey Herringbone Chain Necklace
A must in my opinion, this one also adds texture and dimension to your look in a unique way yet classic way.
Maria Black
Avani 9 Huggie
A huggie but with a flair, these accents give the ear so much movement and make it fun a great way to make the look more dynamic.
Stone & Strand
Sparkle Safety Pin Earring
Making sure that each side looks balanced is key. Adding little accents like this safety pin or other symbols that mean something to you will elevate the intention of what you’re expressing.
Oma The Label
Tennis Collection
If there’s a substitute to the original diamond tennis necklace, this is it! Mix it with any metal, gold, silver to elevate your look and add another feel and vibe to it.
Tiffany & Co
Wire T Ring
The clean lines on this Tiffany piece make it the perfect addition to your look, whether you’re mixing it with bigger rings, diamond rings or different metals it will stand out but also complement the others.
Cartier
Love Bracelet
I know, we’ve seen it all and many times, but this is still so perfect when stacking and layering so it had to make the cut, also heritage and forever pieces that you can pass on are always a great and special investment.
Anita Ko
Zodiac Necklace
Adding a personal touch to the look will make it so special: a symbol, an initial, your zodiac sign, whatever has meaning to you.
So, own it and have fun with it!
