Autumn has well and truly arrived, the evenings are closing in that little bit quicker and it’s slightly harder to jump out of bed at the crack of dawn to get to pilates. But the one thing I am looking forward to… autumn fits! Autumn is my favourite season to dress for, the colours get deeper and richer – think burgundy and, tan and chocolate tones.
I think we love autumn dressing so much because you don’t need a massive coat that covers up all the hard work of putting a cute outfit together but on a chilly autumnal day there is nothing better than a chic cosy sweater. Here are our autumn statement pieces to include in your rotation of outfits for the coming months…
Pixie Market
Sateen A-line woven midi skirt
Pair with a white vest, leather jacket and trainers for a day look. Or tuck in a camisole and drape and oversized blazer over the top for an elegant night time event.
Dries Van Noten
Pleated velvet wide-leg pants
Don’t think because the sun is disappearing that you need to get rid of your colours too. Bold reds are perfect for a night out or date night and these tailored velvet trousers would work perfectly with a lace bodysuit and heels.
Burberry
Waterloo double-breasted cotton trench coat
The classic trench coat, autumn isn’t complete without it. Super versatile and the belt gives you a nipped in style at the waist that’s really flattering.
Zara
Blouse with matching flowing trousers
Perfect for brunch in the autumn. This rich green is so on trend at the moment and the silk fabric can be dressed up or down depending on where you’re going.
Tom Ford
Cutout ribbed wool-blend turtleneck midi dress
The ribbed dress is such a classic, and Tom Ford has put a spin on the turtle neck with its cutout shoulder. This mixes traditional and edgy in just the right way.
& Other Stories
Heeled leather Chelsea boots
A good Chelsea boot has been the staple of every hun’s wardrobe for a few years now. They really are a classic and perfect investment piece. These patent chocolate boots are ideal for a pair of slim or skinny jeans or a knit dress.
Off-White
Flock Chine Flower Arrow Dress
Never underestimate the power of a jumper dress. They are so easy to pop on with a pair of chunky biker boots and you’ve got a ready made outfit. If it’s a chilly day you could match with skinny leather trousers to complete the look.
Taller Marmo
Ostrich Feather Ubud Gown
The ultimate autumnal statement dress. If you’re attending an occasion this autumn that you need to GLOW in, then this dress has you covered. The feathers add the glam and the burnt orange colour screams the season.
COS
Barrel-leg leather trousers
For everyday chic, wear to work and straight out to dinner afterwards. Easy to pair with a silk shirt or cosier jumper if you need something snug for the cooler evenings.
