The dream of having your own space is entirely too sweet. No one bossing you around and imposing their rules – no. It’s yours and you say what goes! I’m sure by now you’ve created your space to be a little haven, reflecting your likes, and personality but there’s always room to step it up a notch. We’re always trying to elevate our space and give it that boutique hotel feel and there are so many simple changes you can make to make your good thing better!
Put a console table behind your sofa
This is one of the easiest things you can do to elevate your home in a matter of seconds. When you look at homes that have been thoroughly designed by renowned interior designers, you may notice that they’ve been stylised in a way that gives a really chic look. This can be done with ornaments, lamps and other interior decor pieces. The only way to incorporate these decor items is by having the surface area to do so and having a console table behind your sofa can do just that! A slim console table is a great home for a lamp on either side, some photo frames and a chic coffee table book.
Have a basket for your throw blankets
In well curated homes everything has a place to live and that goes for your throw blankets too! Get a chic wicker or leather basket for them to live in – it allows for your home to look more well put together.
Seating that doesn’t necessarily need to be functional
We love everything to be functional in the home but some things are more for show than they are for using. Stools and ottomans are a great way to incorporate more seating in your home and complement the furniture you already have. A stool that contrasts in colour of fabric will bring some character into your living space.
Double your duvets
Have you ever wondered why the beds in the show room look more fluffy and luxe than the ones you have at home? That’s because many interior decorators double up on duvets to give that cloud look feel! You can either attach two duvets together and use one duvet cover to house them or use two separate duvets in two separate covers to create a layered look!
