I love a good sit down dinner and drinks as much as the next person, but there is nothing I love more than actually doing something fun and active with my partner. Spending time with your partner does not have to be boring or repetitive- once you think outside the box. The first thing to remember is that you should have some shared interests that you can explore together, that doesn’t leave one person feeling left out or less engaged in your chosen activity. Once you’ve figured out what you both love to do in your spare time, spend some more time finding your individual strengths and weaknesses. Our partner’s usually compliment us, with strengths and weaknesses usually working in tandem to make the ultimate team! Now onto the activity suggestions:
1) Virtual arcades
We all live such busy lives so when do we really ever get the chance to unleash our inner child, virtual arcades allow us to actively relive those key childhood gaming moments. If you are not much of a gamer, you will still have fun! Usually virtual arcades are designed to accommodate gamers of all ages, with varying difficulties of classic games. The best part of virtual arcades is that you almost feel transported into another realm and you get to work on your team building skills (otherworld virtual reality as a recommendation).
2) Virtual reality
I know it seems like we are trying to get you to detach from the real world, but that’s probably for the best (for one night only at least). Virtual reality allows you to be fully immersed in the game. One of the best date nights I’ve ever been on was to SandboxVR, it was a little out of my comfort zone but playing deadwood mansion with my partner gave me a great insight into our crisis management tactics and brought out our playful sides.
3) Soho Farmhouse
If you’re willing to do the drive or catch a very expensive taxi, Soho Farmhouse remains one of my favourite date night chill spots. The farm boasts bike riding, clay shooting, horse riding, mini golf, a pool, gym and general escape from mundane city life. You will need a membership, so if you do not have one definitely consider schmoozing one of your friend’s that does. The best part about the farm is that the pool is both indoor and outdoor, so you can watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine poolside.
4) F1 Arcade
This date night idea is for the thrill seekers and the F1 fans. It’s the supercar experience! Late night drives are some of the most chill and intimate moments you can spend together, so let’s flip that on its head and introduce a supercar. Adrenaline rushing through your veins will make you fall back in love with your partner.
Whatever adventure you choose to go on for date night, just make sure it’s a good one!
